The golf course is the centerpiece of 60 hectares of natural environment.
Built at two different times, the 18 hole, par 71 course is 5900 meters long. The first nine holes, designed by John Harris, unwind through the age-old flora of Villa Condulmer’s 18th century park. The second nine holes, designed by Marco Croze, are, longer than the first.
The greens are fast and well defended by strategically placed bunkers; the layout of the course is flat and not difficult. Water is present in half of the holes. The practice range is 250 meters long and has 9 distance markers ranging from 25 to 200 meters; there is also a putting green whose look and feel reflects the conditions of the golf course greens.
During the last few years there has been extensive drainage work done on the greens, fairways, rough and bunkers. This, along with regular maintenance, guarantees a dry course even after it rains and in general allows for better control of the humidity in the earth.
The Club has completely renovated the Championship Course, reseeding its 18 holes with the Bermuda Grass. The famous "Bermuda Grass,"capable of absorbing rainwater as no other variety of grass can, was planted on the second nine holes in the Summer of 2015, and in May 2016, the planting was completed on the first nine holes. Now the Course is perfectly playable all year round, regardless of weather.
The Rain Bird irrigation system, is a system block that was conceived to insure uniform watering of all areas of the course, as well as the possibility, during periods of drought, to intervene in the more delicate and strategic areas that require special attention. The system is controlled via satellite and this insures continuous irrigation even if there is a loss of power in the central control station. Every consideration is given to maintain quality.
Particular attention is given to maintenance of the course, thanks to the constant but not invasive care, the use of organic products and rainwater that is collected in the three lakes and numerous canals.
The cousre is quite flat for the most part but, despite its level appearance, it shoul not be taken lightly, in that it presents a variety of insidious hazards and obstacles.
The first nine holes are delicate and challenging; a mix of short, tight, intricate holes with a couple of lengthy par 5's. The second nine are longer and full of hidden obstacles.
Before you take on the course it would be wise to carefully study where hazards and obstacles are located. You have to drive long but at the same time be precise, as many holes are flanked by out of bounds, while others have greens that are well-defended by a series of obstacles that require an absolutely perfect approach shot.
Mention should be made of the second hole (par4) for its particular configuration; dog-leg nearing the green and an ancient wall with a large , majestic gate that calls for a very delicate and precise shot to the green.
It is also worth taking a look at the 7 th hole (par 3) where a 10 meter wide canal brushes past the tee on the right and winds down near the green on the left psychologically threatening the golfer.
The most difficult hole of the course is the 17th hole (par 5) insidious due to the canal that runs along the right part of the fairway and the lake that almost totally surrounds the green.
